OUD+Architects, in collaboration with the Kosovo Architecture Foundation, has been officially invited by Professor Hashim Sarkis, Curator of the 17th International Architecture Exhibition – How Will We Live Together?, to participate in the main exhibition of the 2021 Architecture Biennale at La Biennale di Venezia.
This invitation marks a historic milestone for Kosovo’s architectural community. OUD+Architects becomes the first architectural studio from Kosovo to be invited to exhibit within the main international exhibition curated by the Biennale’s appointed director. The participation places Kosovo’s contemporary architectural discourse on one of the most prestigious global platforms dedicated to architecture.
The 17th International Architecture Exhibition, held from 22 May to 21 November 2021 at the Giardini and Arsenale in Venice, addresses the urgent and universal question: How will we live together? Under Sarkis’s curatorial vision, the exhibition gathers architects, thinkers, and practitioners from across the world to explore new spatial models for coexistence, solidarity, and collective futures.
OUD+Architects and the Kosovo Architecture Foundation will present “Prishtina Public Archipelago” as part of the Co-Habitats section of the Arsenale exhibition. The project investigates the transformation, fragmentation, and resilience of public space in Prishtina, examining how collective urban memory and civic life can be reimagined in a rapidly evolving post-conflict context.
The invitation represents both recognition of OUD+’s research-driven practice and a broader acknowledgment of the growing relevance of Kosovo’s architectural and urban discourse within international cultural and professional arenas.
