The Office of Urban Drafters +Architects is an award-winning, research-based, multidisciplinary practice based in Prishtina, Kosovo, with a primary focus on architecture, urban design, and spatial planning. The practice operates across a wide range of scales and disciplines, including industrial design, installations and exhibitions, landscape architecture, large-scale buildings, and comprehensive urban plans. OUD+ employs a conceptual and data-driven design approach that emphasizes the multiple interpretations and uses of space, while continually seeking to redefine contemporary methods of planning and construction.

In recent years, OUD+ has collaborated with a distinguished roster of international practices and institutions, including Zaha Hadid Architects, Rafi Segal, ORG Permanent Modernity, Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, Ron Arad Architects, MVRDV, Kengo Kuma Architects, Sagar+Vuga, and the Getty Foundation, among others.

The work of OUD+ has received significant international recognition through numerous awards and honors. Notable distinctions include first prize for the Rochester Institute of Technology Dormitory, the BIG SEE Visionaries of Architecture Award 2020 presented to the firm’s founder, Bekim Ramku, and the 2025 Holcim Award for Sustainability – Europe Grand Prize, one of the most prestigious international awards in sustainable architecture.

OUD+ has also presented its work at major international platforms, including the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale. The studio was invited by Biennale curator Hashim Sarkis to participate in the main curatorial exhibition, marking OUD+ as the first architectural practice from the region to be featured in the Biennale’s principal exhibition.

The principals of OUD+ bring extensive professional experience at both regional and global levels. They have served as consultants to several international development agencies, most notably the World Bank’s GSURR and IEG groups, and have contributed as jury members and academic reviewers for leading institutions, including the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture.

Bekim Ramku

Principle Architect & Urbanist

Bekim Ramku is an architect, urban designer, curator, and researcher based in Prishtina, Kosovo. He is the founder and principal of OUD+Architects and the founding director of the Kosovo Architecture Foundation.

Bekim initiated Kosovo’s first participation at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2012, serving as commissioner, and in 2021 OUD+Architects and KAF were invited to exhibit in the Biennale’s main curatorial exhibition, curated by Hashim Sarkis—the first regional practice to do so.

Ramku holds degrees in Architecture Engineering from the University of Prishtina, an MA in Housing & Urbanism from the AA School of Architecture in London and has been a Research Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His work has received international recognition, including the BIG SEE Visionaries of Architecture Award of 2020 and the 2025 Holcim Foundation European Grand Prize for Sustainability. In addition to his practice, Ramku serves as founding chair of DoCoMoMo Kosovo, a regional coordinator for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, and an expert for the EU Mies van der Rohe Award and NACTO Global Designing Cities Initiative. He has also consulted for the World Bank and served on juries and academic panels at institutions including Harvard GSD and the University of Toronto Daniels Faculty of Architecture.

Nol Binakaj

Principle Architect & Heritage Expert

Nol Binakaj is an architect and cultural heritage expert based in Prishtina and Principal Architect at OUD+Architects. He brings more than 20 years of experience in built heritage conservation, with a professional focus on architecture, urban development, and the protection and adaptive reuse of cultural heritage.

Noli holds a degree in Architecture Engineering from the University of Prishtina and has served as a research fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Noli has worked extensively on complex architectural and urban projects at both regional and international scales. At OUD+, he plays a key role in the development of public buildings, urban plans, and heritage-led regeneration projects, contributing to the studio’s research-driven and interdisciplinary design approach.

In parallel with his design practice, Noli has served as a cultural heritage expert and consultant for international development institutions, including the World Bank, advising on heritage conservation, urban regeneration, and policy frameworks. His work bridges professional practice, cultural policy, and long-term stewardship of the built environment.

Marigona Derguti

Project Manager & Architect

Marigona studied Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Prishtina, and has professional experience in architectural design and project coordination. For the past 4 years she has worked with the Kosovo Architecture Foundation (KAF) and OUD+Architects, contributing to public, cultural, and mixed-use projects as part of multidisciplinary design teams. Her work focuses on implementation planning and technical documentation, with a strong emphasis on user-centered design and a particular interest in how digital tools and interactive systems inform contemporary architectural practice.

Hamdi Binakaj

Senior Architect

Hamdi Binakaj is a senior architect and urban planner with over four decades of professional experience spanning architectural design, urban planning, and project management. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sarajevo and has worked extensively across Kosovo and Albania on a wide range of public, institutional, residential, and cultural heritage projects.

His career includes senior roles in major post-conflict reconstruction programs, as well as long-term collaboration with international donors and national institutions. He is the recipient of the Borba Third Prize Award for the design of a Shopping Centre in Prishtina (1994) and a member of the winning team of the 2025  Holcim Foundation Award for Sustainability for the Art & Tech Center Tulltorja in Prishtina (2025).

Since 2021, Binakaj has served as Senior Architect at OUD+Architects, where he leads design coordination, technical quality control, and site supervision. His work is defined by a strong commitment to public-interest architecture, technical rigor, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Valerjon Shabanhaxhaj

Architect

Valerjon is a Bachelor-graduated architect currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture. Since August 2024, he has been working as an Architect at OUD+Architects, where he contributes to culturally and urbanistically significant projects of high complexity. His experience includes involvement in the Gërmia Multicultural Center, developed in collaboration with Kengo Kuma & Associates, as well as the Art-Tek Tulltorja project, co-designed with RSAU, ORG Permanent Modernity, as well as Prishtina-X in collaboration with DW5.

Alongside his professional work, Valerjon has been actively engaged in programs and activities of the Kosovo Architecture Foundation. His professional focus lies in architectural design, technical detailing, and coordination with architectural and engineering teams, contributing to contemporary, context-sensitive architectural solutions.

Shqipdona Miftari

Architect

Shqipdona Miftari is an architect with a focus on interior design, based in Prishtina and currently part of the OUD+Architects team. She contributes to a range of projects through executive planning, interior design, and detailed project development.

Following an internship at the Ministry of Culture of Kosovo, she worked for two years as an interior designer, where she developed interior concepts, prepared technical drawings, and delivered tailored design solutions. Shqipdona holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Prishtina. At OUD+Architects, she collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams on executive planning and interior design, contributing to projects across various scales and typologies. Her work emphasizes precision, spatial clarity, and thoughtful detailing, resulting in interiors that are functional, refined, and aligned with contemporary architectural standards.

Flora Sogojeva

Architect

Flora is an architect based in Prishtina, Kosovo. She completed her Master’s studies at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Prishtina, and gained practical experience through various internships in architectural design and project development. With over a year of experience as a Junior Architect at OUD+Architects, she has contributed to diverse and complex multi-functional projects, bridging conceptual design and detailed modeling to translate architectural ideas into functional, refined, and buildable solutions.

Rona Kasabaqi

Architect

Rona is an architect, visualizer, and interior designer based in Prishtina and a member of the OUD+Architects team. She contributes across all stages of the design process, from conceptual development to detailed technical documentation, working on both large-scale architectural and urban projects as well as small-scale interior interventions. Alongside her architectural work, she is actively engaged in architectural visualization and graphic representation, supporting the clear communication of design ideas and spatial concepts.

With nearly four years of professional experience spanning architecture, visualization, and interior design, Rona brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Prishtina and completed part of her academic training through the Erasmus+ program at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, Poland. Her background includes involvement in cultural heritage and architectural research initiatives, including collaborations with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and participation in heritage documentation and restoration workshops.

In parallel with her practice at OUD+Architects, Rona serves as Project Coordinator and Public Relations Officer at the Kosovo Architecture Foundation, contributing to architectural programs, exhibitions, and international collaborations.

Dafine Gashi

Junior Architect

Dafinë holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and is currently completing her Master’s degree at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Prishtina. She has over one year of professional experience as a Junior Architect at OUD+Architects, where she has contributed to the design development of large-scale public and mixed-use projects. Her work focuses on implementation drawings and technical documentation, supporting the accurate translation of complex design concepts into buildable architectural solutions.

Ardit Muhadri

Junior Architect

Ardit is a Junior Architect at OUD+Architects with nearly two years of professional experience. His work focuses on minimal and functional design, emphasizing clarity, balance, and spaces shaped around real user needs. Grounded in collaboration and a strong client-oriented approach, he contributes to the development of contemporary design concepts and thoughtful, functional architectural solutions.

Era Ademaj

Junior Architect

Era completed her studies at the Odhise Paskali High School of Arts and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Prishtina. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree while working as part of the OUD+Architects team, specializing in architectural visualization. Her work focuses on producing detailed and expressive renderings that translate architectural concepts into clear and engaging visual experiences.
